Happy 100th SRB

Santa Rosa Beach has a long and significant history. From ancient native peoples, Spanish explorers, early settlers to current residents, traces of their influence and history can be found. Old canals and Indian oyster shell clusters give hints to another culture and time. Spanish explorers named the bay “Santa Rosa Bay” on 1700’s maps. Early Walton County settlers ventured into this promising land during the 1800s. A growth spurt was inspired by the Florida Chautauqua in 1885 which attracted a cultured crowd and business entrepreneurs.
